Training for Professionals

We are offering free online training sessions for professions in Sheffield.

Likewise Sheffield have a team that can provide training and information around alcohol and drugs.

We are now offering free online and in person training sessions for professionals in Sheffield. We also offer in person naloxone group training session for organisations. To book an in person free naloxone session for your organisation/company, please contact Training@likewisesheffield.org.uk

For our online training sessions, please see below. Each session is one hour and training sessions will be running the first two Thursday and Fridays of every month. Please see below for dates, and use our eventbrite page to book.

This training is primarily aimed at:

  • Social Care staff and similar organisations
  • Sheffield City Council teams
  • Charities and third sector organisations

Our four free training sessions are:

1.Service Overview Training

This session provides an insight into the support Likewise Sheffield offers to individuals and their loved ones affected by substance misuse and addiction. It also covers referral pathways for further help.

2. Alcohol Awareness Training

This session cover the risks of alcohol, safe consumption limits, and available treatment options for those affected. The session also explores referral pathways for support.

3. Substance Misuse Training

Information on different substances, their associated risks, and potential harms. It also includes details on treatment options and harm reduction advice.

4. Naloxone Training

In this one-hour session, you will receive training on how to carry and administer naloxone. Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug that can potentially save lives in an emergency. You will also be able to pick up your own naloxone kit from Likewise.

Provide some basic tools and worksheets
How to refer into alcohol or drug services
Where to access leaflets and information
An increase in substance-specific awarenes
