Our training sessions:

Alcohol Awareness Training

This session cover the risks of alcohol, safe consumption limits, and available treatment options for those affected. The session also explores referral pathways for support.

Naloxone Training

In this one-hour session, you will receive training on how to carry and administer naloxone. Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug that can potentially save lives in an emergency. You will also be able to pick up your own naloxone kit from Likewise.

New & Emerging Drug Trends 

Learn about the latest new and emerging drug trends so you can stay up to date. We introduced this training to help professionals stay up to date with the latest drug trends. The drug scene is  constantly rapidly changing and this training will help you stay more informed and up to date.

This session covers information on different substances, their associated risks, and potential harms. It also includes details on treatment options and harm reduction advice.

Over the Counter and Prescribed Drugs

Understand the potential risks and harms of over the counter and prescribed drugs. In this training we will look at over the counter and prescribed drugs: at the potential risks and harms they may cause, what dependency looks like and support available. This training has been designed so that professionals across Sheffield can be more informed. 

Pregnancy and Substance Use

Learn about the impacts of substances on mother and unborn child and pathways for support. This session explores the impact of substance use during pregnancy and its impact on the neonate and infant.  You’ll learn about different substances effects on both mother and unborn child, what to do if someone you support is using substances and pregnant and pathways for support. 

Cannabis and Spice 

Learn about the effects, harms and risk of cannabis and spice – and support available. This course will look at cannabis and spice,  their effects, risks/harms associated with their use and harm reduction strategies. It also includes details on treatment options. 

Image Performance Enhancing Drugs  

Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs (IPEDs) training provides professionals with a brief overview of the harms associated with substances used to modify physical appearance or boost athletic ability. 

Participants will learn about the types of performance and image-enhancing drugs that can be used (e.g. steroid and peptides), the populations that may use them and why they use these substances. As well as approaches to working more effectively with people who use these substances. This includes harm reduction information and support pathways. It also includes information on the current climate of IPEDS as it’s a quickly evolving field.  

Tailored training sessions for a specific organisation:

How to book onto one of our weekly online training sessions:

To book onto our online training sessions and see training dates, please sign up using eventbrite links above. Each session is one hour and training sessions will be every Friday of the month. Our online training session are bitesize training sessions, for professionals who work closely with those who are experiencing problems with their use of alcohol and/or drugs, please consider contacting us for a more indepth session with those at your organisation
