We know that Christmas and New Year can often be a challenging time. Across the city many places have different opening hours, and it can sometimes be unclear to know where to go for food and warm spaces. Below you’ll find a list of where you can get food this christmas and new year from different food banks and popups. As well as warm spaces you can go.

Burngreave Foodbank

• Open on Monday 22nd December 2025 from 13:00 – 15:00. (Please note this is a ONE-OFF additional foodbank session outside of our regular hours due to the upcoming holiday period)

Food bank Matters, Stocksbridge

• Open as normal on Tuesday, 23^rd December.  Closed Thursday, 25^th December.  Both foodbank and outlet will be open on Tuesday, 30^th December.

Homeless and Rootless at Christmas (HARC)

• Christmas day centre for those who are experience homelessness and for those who are vulnerable. Cooked breakfast and lunch every day.
