Likewise Holds a Job and Training Opportunities Fair

Likewise held a training and job fair on the 5th March in partnership with DWP and the Job Centre to bring together employers and training specialists in a space that felt approachable for our clients. It gave clients the opportunity to speak to organisations like XO, the NHS, Sheffield City Council, Betterweld, Skills People Group, and A+S Transport.

The Supportive Recruitment Event held on 5 March 2026 at Likewise (Drug and Alcohol Support Services), Portland House brought together seven key employers and training providers to showcase accessible pathways into work and skills development. Organisations in attendance included GXO, the NHS, Sheffield City Council, Betterweld, Skills People Group, and A+S Transport—all offering hands‑on opportunities, practical insights, and training options tailored to a wide range of abilities and career interests.

The event was delivered in a relaxed and welcoming environment, ensuring that clients felt comfortable engaging in conversations, asking questions, and exploring real employment possibilities. This informal setting helped build confidence and encouraged meaningful discussions about job roles, entry requirements, and support available.

A huge thank you to the Likewise IPS team for organising the event and to all the brilliant employers and training providers who came along.

Overall, the event successfully demonstrated the positive impact of partnership working and showcased a range of inclusive employment and training pathways for clients looking to take their next step toward work.
